The Ridge Meadows RCMP report their Halloween Task Force made a major arrest and captured Betelgeuse, an alias for the suspect who is more commonly known as Beetlejuice.
This Halloween the RCMP are taking on the streets, rocking the wild hair and striped suits – but don’t worry they are here to help, not haunt!
"We are prepared to handle any disruptions on Halloween, natural or supernatural," said Const. Tisha Parsons. "We encourage everyone to make smart choices and keep Halloween fun, spooky and safe."
The police offer safety tips on how to ensure an enjoyable Halloween:
• Before the kids hit the streets, it is important that parents be aware of the route that their children plan to follow.
• Stay in well-lit areas such as sidewalks (If there is no sidewalk, walk on the left-hand side of the street facing traffic).
• Report suspicious behaviour and be polite to spirits.
• You need to say Beetlejuice three time for him to appear but only one call to 911 will summon police.
• Treats, not tricks! Let parents check candy first – make sure they are as safe as they are sweet!
• Stay bright and spooky! Wear something bright so ghosts and drivers can see you!
