Access to Eric Langton Elementary will be changing in the coming weeks as the school's replacement project continues.
Starting on Thursday, June 19, new underground utilities and improved roadworks are to be installed around the elementary school site, informed SD42.
This will mean the main parking lots for the school, off Edge Street will be closed after Thursday, June 26.
People are being asked to use street parking in stead and enter the school by the 227 Street entrance.
Pedestrian access will remain open, advised the school district, however it will be rerouted.
Drivers should expect delays along 121 Avenue from Edge Street to 224 Street, as well as along Edge Street from 121 Avenue to Reg Franklin Park.
The district noted that flaggers will be on-site during work hours to help direct traffic.
Local parks, daycares, and playgrounds will still be accessible to the public, although there may be delays in getting to them.
Pedestrian are being asked to follow posted detour signs.
Drivers and pedestrians are being asked to follow the direction of the flaggers and to allow extra time for drop-off and pick-up in the area.
Impacted property owners will be contacted by Yellowridge Construction, said the school district, thanking the community for its patience as they improve the community infrastructure.
Access changes will remain in effect until Friday, Aug. 29.
