After three decades, The ACT Arts Centre will be undergoing roof repairs.
The Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council shared the news on Thursday, June 5, noting that the repairs are necessary to "ensure the safety and long-term sustainability of this valuable community asset."
Roof repairs will begin in late June with a projected completion date around the end of September.
As a result, the 2025-2026 ACT Presents Season of performances will officially begin in December with the holiday programming.
Holiday programming only will go on sale in July, and the full season will be announced and available in September.
"The Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Arts Council is working closely with the City of Maple Ridge to carry out this work in the least disruptive way possible to our programs and services," noted the arts council.
While the programming in the theatres will be affected during this time, Arts Learning programs and the ACT Art Gallery programming will continue with minimal disruption, said the council, and rental shows will be scheduled, depending on how the work progresses.
During this pause, the arts council will also be working behind the scenes on a rebrand.
"One that reflects both the growing needs of the community and the evolving role the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Arts Council plays in community life," they said.
Donors who contribute $100 or more to the Arts Council's 2025-26 annual campaign will receive early access to holiday programming when tickets go on sale in July, and again in September – including the opportunity to preview the lineup and purchase tickets before they are made available to the public.
"We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work through the impact of these important repairs and replacements," added the arts council. "We look forward to welcoming you back in December for a vibrant new season and with a fresh new look."
Further information will be shared as the project progresses.
