Less than two weeks after National Tree Day was celebrated in Maple Ridge and countless other cities around the world, Pitt Meadows will now get its own tree-planting event.
TD Tree Days is an annual celebration hosted by TD Bank, and involves events at cities all throughout Canada and parts of the U.S.
According to the bank's website, TD Tree Days has been responsible for the planting of more than 520,000 trees and shrubs in North America. This number will only get higher after the various 2024 events going on, which includes one right in Pitt Meadows.
On Sunday, Oct. 6, the Lower Mainland Green Team will help facilitate the TD Tree Days event happening in Hoffmann Park.
Volunteers will spend three hours adding to the greenery in Hoffmann Park, with no prior experience or equipment required.
In addition to the gear being supplied, volunteers will also have access to some free snacks to enjoy as well.
The TD Tree Days event takes place rain or shine from 9 a.m. to noon. Anyone interested in volunteering can visit www.tdtreedays.com/hoffmann-park to register.
