Trying a new sport can be pricey, which is why the Ridge Meadows Minor Lacrosse Association (RMMLA) is offering multiple free lacrosse tryout sessions throughout Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.

The first of the three planned events has already happened, with youth gathering at Golden Ears Field last Sunday to try their hand at Canada's national summer sport.

However, those who missed this first event will still have plenty of opportunities to play some free lacrosse, with the RMMLA hosting two more of the same events this week.

On Thursday, Aug. 22, Pitt Meadows youth can stop by Pitt Meadows Elementary from 5 to 8 p.m. in order to play some lacrosse.

Then on Saturday, Aug. 24, the free event will be moving back to Maple Ridge, taking place at Telosky Stadium from 10 a.m. to noon.

For both of these events, boys and girls of all ages are allowed to attend, with no registration required. All of the equipment will also be provided by the RMMLA. Any local youth with access to some closed-toe shoes will be able to participate and see if lacrosse can become their new favourite sport.
