Maggie Coles-Lyster got back on the track.

Maple ridge pro cyclist Maggie Coles-Lyster is back on track, and back on the podium, at the 2025 Belgian International Track Meeting on April 18 to 20.

This being her first track competition since the 2024 Paris Olympics, Coles-Lyster quickly found her form among the largest, and arguably the most competitive international field of the 2025 season.

Sandwiched between racing Paris Roubaix Femmes avec Zwift and Ronde de Mouscron on the road with her World Tour Team Human Powered Health, Coles-Lyster targeted this event in Ghent to garner valuable UCI points, and to keep her head and skills in the game.

“With LA 2028 just around the corner, there was no time to sit and be idle," she said. "The omnium format has changed, with longer races, and the quality of riders is rising quickly. The best way for me to keep current and sharp is to race my track bike."

The 25-year old, three-time junior track world medallist and world champion has been battling health related challenges since the start of her 2025 season, which has effected her performance on the bike. Getting back to track racing with solid results was key to helping Coles-Lyster reset as she searches for answers.

During the three days of racing, she earned two third-place podium finishes in the elimination and scratch race, with a strong fourth-place finish in the omnium.

After a short break, Coles-Lyster returns to the road with race on May 8.

As for track, she looks to target an event later in the season to keep her momentum on course with her eye on a medal at the LA 2028 Summer Olympics.
