Maple Ridge Ramblers wrestler Agnia Krakovska put on an amazing performance against tough competition, as she won big at the SFU Open on Nov. 2.
Krakovska competed as a high school student up against wrestlers from Universities across the U.S. and Canada. She took first place and won most Outstanding Female Wrestler.
Her Ramblers coach Kevin Menic said it is unlikely any other high school wrestler has ever won this tournament. Krakovska won all three matches by technical superiority, leading by 10 or more points. She won the first match against an SFU wrestler 15-4, her second against a competitor from Edmonton, where she went untouched in a 10-0 victory, and in her third and final match against a woman from Saskatchewan, a veteran fourth-year wrestler, she won 15-4.
This accomplishment was on top of her win at Freakshow in Las Vegas two weeks ago.
Krakovoska was one of four Maple Ridge Secondary wrestlers who medalled at the 2024 Canadian Wrestling Championships in April, as she took gold in the U19, 53 kg class.
Then, as a member of the U17 national team, she won bronze and the U17 Pan American Wrestling Championships in June of 2024 in the Dominican Republic.
