Maple Ridge Major Leaguer Tyler O'Neill hammered the second walk-off homer of his career on Wednesday, Sept. 11, and it also gave him the second 30-homer season of his MLB career.

He hit the latest bomb as his Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-3 at Fenway Park, in an extra-innings game. He hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning, to keep his team alive in the wild card race.

It was his fifth home run in five games.

O'Neill had 34 home runs in the 2021 season with the Saint Louis Cardinals, and now has 30 on the season – his first campaign with the Bosox.

O'Neill is having a resurgent season, hitting to a .259 average with 30 home runs, 59 RBI, and working a career best 49 walks. He's done all that in just 375 at bats and 102 games.

Sportsnet reports that he is now just the sixth Canadian-born player to have multiple seasons with 30 home runs, joining a list that includes Canadian baseball royalty: Maple Ridge's hall of famer Larry Walker Jr., Joey Votto, Justin Morneau, Jason Bay, and of course Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

O'Neill signed a one-year deal worth $5.85 million to play with Boston, and will become a free agent at the end of the season, at 29 years of age. He has expressed a desire to stay in Boston.
