Pitt Meadows taekwondo students win medals at provincials

Five Sage Martial Arts Society students bring home 10 medals

Pitt Meadows taekwondo fighters got some good results in a recent provincial competition.

Steven Lovett runs the non-profit society Sage Martial Arts, which provides training for people from the age of four to 70. They run classes for adults and children at the Pitt Meadows Elementary gymnasium.

Sage students won awards for both patterns/forms as well as sparring at the BC provincial taekwondo championships in Burnaby on Oct. 12.

"We're a small school, but we definitely punch above our weight," said Lovett.

He took three teens and two adults to the provincials, and was not surprised to see them all win medals.

"I had high hopes for everyone, because we all train hard," he said.

The club members took five gold medals, one silver and five bronze. The winners were:
