Ridge Meadows Flames rookie goaltender Josh Vallee earned his fourth shutout in five games, as the Maple Ridge Junior A squad got an 11-0 win over the Kodiaks in Aldergrove on Wednesday night, Oct. 16.

The Flames, the reigning champs in the PJHL, will be going for their 12th straight win to start the season on Friday, Oct. 18 when they host the Langley Trappers at Cam Neely Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Vallee, a rookie out of Coquitlam, has started five games and allowed a miserly one goal to start his junior career. He had a light night in Aldergrove on Oct. 16, as he faced just nine shots. However, he has made 98 saves on 99 shots to start his career, and boasts some incredible numbers at a 0.990 save percentage and a goals against average of 0.20.

Team captain and elite defenceman Lukas Ravenstein got a hat trick and an assist, and was named the first star of the game. All three of his tallies came on the power play. Jakob Loewen, who led all defencemen in the Pacific Junior Hockey League in scoring last season, had four assists and was the second star.

There was balanced production, with the other eight goals scored by eight different players. Nolan Bowsher had a good night, with a goal and two assists.

The Kodiaks spent ample time in the sin bin, and the Flames lethal power play capitalized with four goals in eight chances. Ridge outshot Aldergrove 69-9.
