The Ridge Meadows Flames have run their perfect start to the new junior hockey season to six straight wins.
The Flames shut out the Chilliwack Jets 6-0 on Sept. 20, and then beat the Port Moody Panthers 4-1 on Sept. 23, to keep rolling over the Pacific Junior Hockey League.
Against Chilliwack, Flames rookie goaltender Josh Vallee was the star of the game with a 22-save shutout. Nolan Bowsher led the offence with a goal and two assists, and defenceman Jakob Loewen had a goal and an assist. Morgan Clark, Cohen Muc, Theo Kochan and Owen Nutland also scored.
On Monday night, Muc led the scoring with a goal and three assists, while Zack Lagrange had a goal and two helpers. Clark had a goal and an assist, and team captain Lukas Ravenstein also scored.
The Flames and the Richmond Sockeyes are the only two unbeaten teams in the PJHL, both with 6-0 records. But the Flames record is more impressive in that they have only allowed seven goals against, while scoring 55. The Sockeyes have scored 35 while allowing 10.
Those titans will clash on Sept. 30 at Minoru Arena in Richmond.
This Friday, Sept. 27, the Flames will host the Surrey Knights at Cam Neely Arena. So far this season, the Knights have just one win in five outings. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
