The Ridge Meadows Flames won two more over the weekend.

The Ridge Meadows Flames won two more games over the weekend, to run their impressive record to 31 wins, four losses, an overtime loss, and a shootout loss.

The Flames sit in second place in the Pacific Junior Hockey League with 64 points after 37 games, and are within reach of the first-place Chilliwack Jets who have 68 points in 39 contests.

The Flames first win of the weekend was an 8-1 victory over the pitiable Aldergrove Kodiaks, as the Flames added to Aldergrove's 36-game streak going both winless and pointless. The Flames outshot Aldergrove 63-11.

Star forward Zack Lagrange had two goals and four points, captain Lukas Ravenstein had a goal and two assists, and rookie Jonah Power-Smith had a goal and a helper.

Lagrange leads the league in scoring, with 37 goals and 78 points through 37 games.

On Sunday, the Flames got a 3-2 win over the Coastal Tsunami team from Gibsons. Veteran forward Theo Kochan scored twice, defenceman Tyler Blatz had two helpers, and Pierce Whyte also scored.

This weekend, the Flames will take on the Mission City Outlaws on Friday night, Jan. 10 at Cam Neely Arena. The Mission roster boasts nine players from Maple Ridge, including their leading scorer Cooper Crowe, who has 14 goals and 24 points in 37 games.

Mission has gone 9-23 with three overtime losses, and are just above last-place Aldergrove in the standings. Over the past two seasons, the Flames have beaten them through eight straight. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
