With spring now just weeks away, the organizers of the Ridge Meadows Home Show are excited to share the news: They’re back, and just in time for spring cleaning, renovation and garden season!

In fact, paired with its partner events at Planet Ice and the Maple Ridge Fairgrounds, this favourite event on the spring calendar offers something for just about everyone in the family, from the die-hard DIYers to foodies, to youngsters who love the hands-on fun at Family Fest.

In all, you can visit close to 400 booths sharing everything you need for your home, backyard and garden, not to mention family fun and wellness.

“We’re very fortunate that many of our exhibitors have signed up again – people are excited to have the show coming back after two years,” says Graham Vanstone, executive director of the show that has delighted visitors for more than 30 years. Marking 23 years with the society, Vanstone has replaced former Executive Director Cassandre Winder, who retired after more than 25 years.

The only local home show hosted by a non-profit society, the society experienced some losses during the shut-down, and didn’t qualify for Fairs, Festivals and Events Recovery Grant as some others did, but the team is ready to get back to business.

While a few things have changed since the last show, the team is keen to welcome people back for the much-anticipated event.

Also returning is the popular student volunteer program – an excellent opportunity for teens to get those volunteer hours while also gaining valuable work experience and mentorship in a fun setting. It comes as little surprise that “all of our adult leaders were student volunteers at one time,” Graham notes.

Through the years, the Ridge Meadows Home Show Society has also invested close to $200,000 in grounds and facility improvements to the fairgrounds, Planet Ice and the curling rink – upgrades that benefit the community as well as site show exhibitors and visitors.

What makes the Ridge Meadows Home Show, sponsored by Envision Financial, a must-attend event for small business and corporate clients alike? For exhibitors, the well-planned show hits the trifecta of location, exceptional organization and reputation.

“With visitor surveys gathered over the previous 10 years of the show delivering an 85 per cent ‘Good to Excellent’ results, our show consistently sells out and draws more than 20,000 visitors from throughout the Lower Mainland,” Graham says.
