After 71 years in one location, a move to spacious new digs in a new neighbourhood calls for a celebration. For Maple Ridge's Smith Plywoods, it also means a warm welcome to new neighbours and longstanding customers alike.

Now that the moving dust has settled and everything is in its (new!) place at 20091 113B Ave,, the Smith team is excited to welcome the community for an open house, Friday, Oct. 18.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., you're invited to stop by for a hamburger or hot dog, and browse the new location. Rounding out the day will be prizes and the chance to enter a mystery draw!

A family-run business for 72 years, Smith Plywoods is the Lower Mainland's only plywood lumber yard. And after serving residents and businesses alike since 1952 from their original home across the river, they're excited to showcase their new location that boasts double the space – easier for navigating the vast selection of plywood, not to mention all the assorted tools and products to get your project done, and done right. As a one-stop shop, you'll find with crews, glues, stains, drill bits, drawer glides, hinges and more.

Of course, it's not only the quality and selection of products that resonates with customers, but the expertise of the longstanding Smith team. After all, with a 72-year history, you know they understand every detail about their products, and how to help you select the right plywood for your projects, including:

  • pre-finished hardwood, degrade and standard construction-grade sheathing in fir and spruce
  • exotic hardwoods, like teak and khaya
  • marine plywood for boat repairs and marine projects
  • fire-rated plywood for electrical projects
  • treated plywoods for high-moisture areas
  • pieces designed for business signs and dry erase boards.
  • oversized plywood – perfect for building utility trailers or other projects where the standard 4X8-foot sheets aren’t quite large enough.

Visit the Smith Plywoods at 20091 113B Ave. in Maple Ridge from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. You can also call 604-574-4393 for details and be sure to watch for the latest news on Facebook.
