It’s that time of year again, when cancer fighters start pounding the pavement for the Terry Fox Run.

The annual event goes Sunday, Sept. 16, with registration starting at 8 a.m. and the run going at 10 a.m., at Spirit Square in Pitt Meadows at 12007 Harris Rd.

There will be one-kilometre, five-km and 10-km routes – friendly to runners, walkers, cyclists, rollerbladers, strollers and dogs on leash. The five- and 10-km routes will cross from Pitt Meadows into Maple Ridge, making this course a community run that truly brings both Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows together in the spirit of Terry Fox, said a release.

The event is looking for volunteers to help with the run, but if not, if you just want to run or walk, that’s fine too.

About 84 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to cancer research.
