Breaking: Painter injured after fall from scaffold in Maple Ridge

Airlifted to hospital by helicopter

A man was airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital Wednesday afternoon at about 2:30 p.m., after he fell off a scaffold in west Maple Ridge.

A neighbour found him lying on the ground unconscious and called 911, said a witness.

The man was evacuated by air ambulance from the grounds of Westview secondary which was just in its second day of classes.

The fall took place while the man was painting a house on Dewdney Trunk Road near 210th Street.
