Ron Comeau, aka RonTech2000, is a Maple Ridge father and authour and producer of the Canucks Fanthem and its Larscheid remix.

He first wrote and recorded it in 2009, but it is still relevant today, Comeau says, “because we are so hungry for the cup.

Comeau claims to by a “typical sports nerd.” He‘s been going to Canuck games since he was three years old (1977).

“I was there in the lean years (like the Bill Laforge era) with 8,000 other people in the Pacific Coliseum. I call my dad after all the big wins. Like so many other hardcore fans, I have suffered the 40 years in the wilderness and I am ready to enter the land of milk and honey.”

Comeau owns an old yellow Canucks’ jersey with “Free Bubla” on the back. He last wore it during Game 7 of the 1994 Stanley Cup finals.

“I swore I’d never wear it again until the Canucks were in the finals again, so I will be donning it again in the upcoming days. I just tried it on today and it fits like a baseball shirt.”

Comeau is married and has three children.

“All are big Canucks fans, too.”

He has been doing novelty sports raps since 1989. “A buddy and I used to call in the local sports radio talk shows and peel off raps about classic NHL players. The Canucks Fanthem is the first one I’ve recorded, although I once made a CD with my boys, MC Beige and MC Püdding, about the joys of living in Port Coquitlam. I’m drawn to local content. The Canucks Fanthem was played on Team 1040 during the 2009 run.”

His prediction for the cup final: Canucks in five.

“We’ll start the parade on Pacific, then take it up Georgia ...

“Go Canucks Go.”
