A car crashed into the side of Haney Place Mall late Sunday.

A large hole in the southeast side of the mall was sectioned off with yellow tape and a security guard was parked next to it.

There were no injuries.

Ridge Meadows RCMP issued a violation ticket to a 24-year-old Surrey man believed to be responsible for crashing into the Haney Place Mall.

Police were called around 7:15 p.m. Sunday after witnesses reported seeing a Honda car being driven erratically in the south parking lot of the mall.

The driver reportedly struck a shopping cart, sign poles, and collided into the side of the building. The Maple Ridge fire department was called to assist.

“There is considerable damage to the building and the car. Fortunately the driver and his passenger were not injured,” said RCMP Sgt. Brenda Gresiuk.

Police have recommended a charge of driving without reasonable consideration under the Motor Vehicle Act

There were no injuries, according to reports.
