RCMP are looking for a couple responsible for a pair of robberies which targeted gas stations in Maple Ridge and Langley early Saturday.

Around 12:15 a.m., a man entered a Chevron store in the 20500 block of Lougheed Highway in Maple Ridge and threatened a clerk.

After brandishing a weapon, RCMP said the man stole an undisclosed amount of money and lottery tickets.

He fled the gas station in a silver grey car, possibly a Pontiac Sunfire, which was driven by a woman.

Fifteen minutes later, at 12:30 a.m., a man with a similar description entered a north Langley Chevron by shattering the locked glass door.

He then smashed a glass case on the front counter with a hammer, took over $400 in lottery tickets and ordered the attendant to open the cash register.

The man also stolen a coin drawer.  The vehicle observed in robbery was a dark red car, possibly a Honda.

“There is good evidence to indicate this is the same male and female who are responsible for both robberies, so Langley and Ridge Meadows RCMP investigators will be teaming up to solve these incidents,"  said Cpl. Alanna Dunlop."The RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Section has been called in to assist."

The suspect is described as a light-skinned man in his late 20s or early 30s, approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall with a medium build and dark coloured eyes.  He was wearing a black, or dark blue hooded sweatshirt which had the word “shady” written on the front, blue jeans and tan coloured boots.  The woman had long dark hair.
