A crash sent three people to hospital Saturday afternoon and left a bride and groom, along with the bridal party with scrapes and bruises.

The two vehicle collision happened at around 5:10 p.m. at the corner of Lougheed Highway and Meadow Gardens Way in Pitt Meadows.

Three occupants of one of the vehicles were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said Cpl. Julie Klaussner with the Ridge Meadows RCMP.

In the other vehicle were members of a wedding party on their way to the reception at Meadow Gardens Golf Course. The bride, groom, maid of honour, and bridesmaids suffered some bumps and bruises, but no serious injuries and were still able to attend the reception.

Police closed the westbound lanes of Lougheed Highway while first responders helped those injured at the scene.
