Cyclist injured in crash on Dewdney

A 32-year-old man is taken to hospital with minor injuries after being by a car while riding his bike at 223 Street and Dewdney Trunk Road on Sunday.

A 32-year old man was taken to hospital after he was hit by a car on Sunday while biking in downtown Maple Ridge.

The collision between the compact car and bicycle occurred just before 3:30 p.m. at 223rd Street and Dewdney Trunk Road.

Ridge Meadows RCMP, Maple Ridge Fire Department and B.C. Ambulance Services were called to the crash.

Cpl. Alanna Dunlop said the cyclist’s injuries are felt to be non-life threatening.

Police charged a 19-year old woman who was driving the car for failing to yield under the Motor Vehicle Act.
