Don’t need your Compass Card anymore? You can donate it to help families in need in the Lower Mainland.
TransLink is opening up five donation kiosks at SkyTrain and Canada Line stations in Vancouver where riders can donate unregistered Compass Cards.
TransLink will convert the value of the donated cards into transit passes to help children, families and seniors at United Way-funded social service agencies travel to work, school and appointments.
The five kiosk locations are:
- Waterfront Station
- Canada Line Vancouver City Centre
- Canada Line Broadway–City Hall
- Canada Line Granville Station
- Stadium-Chinatown Expo Line
"Some of the region’s most vulnerable populations are reliant on both United Way funded programs and services – and on TransLink," said Cathy McLay, TransLink CFO and executive vice-president of finance and corporate services.
TransLink raised $251,626 to help people in the Lower Mainland through United Way in 2016.
