Over 65 businesses around downtown Maple Ridge decorated "Win Your Wish" draw boxes for customers to drop receipts into this month.
Nearly 451 votes were cast in two weeks, and, in a tight race, the nail spa-themed box at The Little Spa claimed first prize: a half page colour ad in the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows News.
In second place, Buttons and bows won a Samsung Galaxy tablet.
The count was close between second and third place. Transat Travel was awarded a $25 Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association gift certificate as the runner up.
With a larger number of draw boxes around town compared to last year, shoppers have many opportunities to drop off receipts, and enter to win.
"It's great to see so many businesses getting involved in Win Your Wish," said Dipti Chavan, membership and events coordinator for the DMRBIA.
"Giving away these prizes is a great feeling, so close to Christmas. There was really a feeling of festivity and giving around the contest. The staff at DMRBIA can't wait to hand out the five grand-prize packages in January."
