Terry Gregory’s rink continued to dominate in Haney Masters’ Curling League, defeating Jim Maitland 6-3 in opening round play-offs at Golden Ears Winter Club.
Gregory, along with the solid play of Max Albrechtsen, Gary Sawatsky and Ian Strachan, are seeded first after their first-place finish in league play.
Maitland, along with his team of Rudy Baird, Ole Hensrud and Dave Bradley, fell short in the final end, when Gregory took out his final rock with a superb shot.
In other action, Laverne Hautz defeated Steve Senko 6-3 behind consistent shot-making by team of third Don Plummer, second Ed Belsey and lead Morris Achtemichuk.
With Senko lying three in the sixth end and behind by two, Hautz limited Senko to only one point with a delicate draw for what proved to ensure the win.
