How can the Conservatives fix economy?

MR Randy Kamp invites people to speak out to Ottawa, online

Your federal government wants to hear your ideas on how it should spend your money.

So it’s inviting taxpayers to get involved in its online pre-budget consultations and give it a piece of their minds, in 200 words or less.

The survey can be accessed from Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge MP Randy Kamp’s home page by clicking the pre-budget consultations link and asks for responses to four questions.

Is there anything that can be done to protect Canada’s economy from global economic threats?

Are there are any low-cost ways to ensure Canada can compete and prosper and are there any areas where spending cuts can be made?

And, how can the government encourage private sector growth?

Names don’t have to provided, but the finance department wants to know what province you live in, your age, rough occupation, level of education and income.

Kamp said that “talking directly to Canadians is the best way to get input in how to help fuel job and economic growth …”

He said, in the past, many ideas raised at previous consultations have been included in actual budgets that come out every March.

Kamp said Prime Minister Stephen Harper and other cabinet members will be travelling across the country to hear people’s ideas. The MP also met with small business owners and community leaders to hear their ideas on how to promote economic growth. That input says that businesses want the government to continue its “low-tax plan for jobs and growth.

“I also noted that many felt that our government can help create an environment for robust job creation by aggressively tackling our country’s debt and deficit.”

He said the plan is to keep Canada on the right and says with 820,000 new jobs since the end of the recession, it’s the best record among all G-7 countries.
