Cigarettes and a large amount of lottery tickets were stolen early Thursday from a Maple Ridge store.

Police said a thief or thieves entered Triple A Market on Dewdney Trunk Road by breaking open a front door around 4:45 a.m.

Chamber B&E

Police are looking for the person who broke a glass door to the Chamber of Commerce in Maple Ridge early Saturday.

The break-in triggered an alarm around 3 a.m. but officers found no one inside when they arrived.

Patrol of the surrounding area also failed to locate any suspects.

Car stolen

Ridge Meadows RCMP are looking for a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer stolen from an apartment complex in Pitt Meadows last week.

The red SUV was taken from a parking lot off Harris Road between noon on Friday and 7 a.m. on Saturday.

It had British Columbia licence plates 682KPM on it at the time of the theft.

Peaceful Pitt day

Ridge Meadows RCMP report crowds were peaceful, for the most part, on Pitt Meadows Day.

Extra cops were on the street for Saturday's festivities and although the crowds kept Mounties busy, Cpl. Alanna Dunlop said most people were in a good mood.

Police responded to reports of disturbances and over consumption of alcohol, but Dunlop added all the calls were minor and easily dealt with.

There were also no problems at the fireworks display.

Police fair

Around 90 families got their children fingerprinted at the first Ridge Meadows RCMP fair on Sunday.

The event at Haney Place Mall featured the Lower Mainland emergency response team and its tactical armoured vehicle, a RCMP command post, police motorcycles and Sgt. Dave Smith and his horse Justice.

Supt. Dave Walsh hopes to make the fair an annual event.
