A two-vehicle collision created huge traffic back up eastbound on Highway 1 Thursday morning (Jan. 30).
A sedan and a white box truck collided at the 192nd Street ramp at 6:20 a.m. causing the box truck to flip over and onto the median.
"It's unclear if anyone was injured or how severe," reported a Black Press Media freelancer who was at the crash site. "The left lane and HOV have been closed since and traffic is backed up for kilometres."
A press release from B.C. Highway Patrol revealed more vehicles may have been in the same crash near the 200th Street Langley exit off Highway 1.
"Four vehicles were involved and two people have been taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries," Corp. Michael McLaughlin, media relation officer, wrote in the release.
McLaughlin said drivers should expect major delays both on the highway and on the surrounding roads until Highway Patrol's investigation team can gather evidence over the crash area.
"Please be alert and obey the direction of police and traffic control personnel at the scene."
McLaughlin added drivers can go to drivebc.ca for the latest info on when the Highway 1 will reopen.
