A man and a woman were injured after being struck by a car in Maple Ridge Saturday night.

The pair had been riding scooters when the collision occurred on Dewdney Trunk Road near 243rd Street around 9:30 p.m. It was raining heavily at the time.

Police said weather was definitely a factor, but have ruled out alcohol.

The man and the woman were both airlifted to hospital, where they were treated and released.
