Ridge Meadows RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit have arrested a man on multiple charges related to sexual offences against a young girl.
Police allege Russell Lamb, 24, had a relationship with a teenaged girl in Maple Ridge.
"What is particularly alarming in the case is the fact Mr. Lamb is currently on a probation order from Squamish, B.C. after being convicted of a sex offence against a 15-year-old female victim in that community," said Inspector David Fleugel.
The latest allegations involve a teenaged girl who Lamb met, and befriended, while in Maple Ridge.
"This was not a random stranger attack," Fluegel added.
Lamb appeared in provincial court on Friday, and has been remanded until Monday, Sept. 17 when he will make his next appearance via video conference.
Ridge Meadows RCMP are continuing their investigation.
