Man slashed at Maple Ridge hotel

RCMP are looking for a man with long, dark hair after another man was slashed in front of the Haney Hotel in Maple Ridge late Tuesday.

The incident stemmed from a  physical confrontation between the two, Ridge Meadows RCMP said.

It occurred around 11 p.m.

The suspect is about 30 years old, possibly Aboriginal, with long, dark hair. He was wearing a grey, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police searched the area for the suspect, using a dog from the RCMP Lower Mainland District's Police Dog Services, but failed to locate him.

The injured man was treated by members of the B.C. Ambulance Service for non-life threatening injuries.

 

Maple Ridge teen's smartphone stolen

A Maple Ridge teenager was pulled off his bike by two men who stole his smartphone Wednesday in Maple Ridge.

Two male suspects assaulted Maple Ridge male youth, 17, Wednesday afternoon. They pulled him off his bike and then stole his smart phone.

The suspects ran to a nearby apartment complex, but could not be tracked after that.

One is described as a white male, 6-1 with a medium build and short, dark hair. He was a missing tooth and had a tattoo on his neck.

The other is a white male, 6-0 with a slim build and short, dark hair. He was wearing a gold shirt and a chain.
