A young man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in an altercation Monday in Maple Ridge and police have made two arrests.

RCMP were called to Ridge Meadows Hospital at 4:30 p.m., when a stabbing victim was located and interviewed.

Police learned there was a disagreement between two groups of males who were known to each other, and the victim was allegedly stabbed as the incident escalated, in the 11600 block of 225th Street.

Police later arrested an “adult male” and a “male young offender.”

The victim remains in hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries, according to RCMP, while the investigation continues.
