Maple Ridge boy hit by van

Took place by Burnett Street on Lougheed Highway, injuries not life-threatening.

A boy was airlifted to hospital after he was hit by a vehicle at Burnett St. and Lougheed Hwy. Tuesday afternoon.

A young boy was hit by a five-tonne cube van while crossing Lougheed Highway Tuesday afternoon in Maple Ridge.

The accident took place around 3 p.m. at Burnett Street.

The boy, 12, was airlifted to hospital by a B.C. Ambulance helicopter, which landed in a field at Thomas Haney Secondary.

Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating and yet to determine who is at fault. The boy's injuries are not life threatening.
