Maple Ridge residents have a new way to stay abreast of news from city hall with digital messaging.
The city launched a new website earlier this month, and now offers a new way to stay up to date on the latest city news called E-Connect.
According to city hall, E-Connect will deliver important announcements, event notifications, service updates, council and project updates, and public engagement opportunities directly to email inboxes. The first issue will come out this Friday, May 17.
“As part of our commitment to openness and transparency, we were thrilled to launch our new website, and now E-Connect is our next tool to keep our residents informed and engaged,” said Mayor Dan Ruimy. “Having all the news and information in your inbox is a convenient way to know about important decisions and projects that impact life in Maple Ridge. I encourage everyone to sign up.”
E-Connect aims to help residents stay informed about what’s happening in Maple Ridge and encourages participation in public engagement opportunities and municipal decision-making. Knowing the issues, projects, and policies discussed by council, and when and how to provide feedback, encourages residents to weigh in on important topics that impact their community.
Residents can now sign up for the new e-newsletter at mapleridge.ca/stayconnected and customize their preferences. Those who subscribed to a newsletter on the city’s previous website have been automatically subscribed to E-Connect. Those who no longer wish to receive email updates can unsubscribe at any time.
E-Connect will be issued bi-monthly on Fridays to start, as one of the latest new tools the city is undertaking to improve communications and engagement with residents.
