Maple Ridge man arrested in Vancouver car-jacking

Kevin Vern Beaulieu faces five counts, including possession of a dangerous weapon.

Charges have now been formally laid in connection with yesterday’s late afternoon car-jacking in East Vancouver.

Maple Ridge resident Kevin Vern Beaulieu, 40, has been charged with robbery, theft of motor vehicle (two counts), possession of a dangerous weapon, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Beaulieu has a criminal history dating back to 1990 that includes approximately 66 convictions for a wide variety of property and violent crime-related offences and breaches of court orders taking place in Victoria and almost every jurisdiction except Vancouver, according to Vancouver police.

Beaulieu was remanded into custody and a court date has not yet been set.
