A 30-year-old man has been charged with break-and-enter and theft from a Maple Ridge condo earlier this month.

Early on July 10, a woman awoke in her apartment, in the 11500-block of 232 Street, and found a man looking around inside. When she confronted him, he ran out.

The RCMP Lower Mainland District’s Forensic Identification Section, from fingerprints found inside the condo, identified a suspect.

Ryan Tyler Young, 30, was arrested by Ridge Meadows RCMP on July 13. He appeared in Port Coquitlam Provincial Court on July 14 and was remanded until his next court appearance, today.

He has been charged with "break, enter, and theft from a dwelling house."

“This arrest is quite significant, as we have certain concerns regarding Mr. Young’s behaviors," said RCMP Supt. Dave Walsh. "We will be identifying our concerns with the courts, which may include a psychiatric remand."
