Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge MP Dan Ruimy is continuing his town talks this week, this time focusing on the environment.

Tonight, Wednesday, Aug. 3, the Liberal politician is hosting a town hall meeting on climate change in the community room at 11756 – 232nd St., from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The meeting will start with a presentation followed by ideas about how to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, ideas for new technology and preparing for the impacts of climate change.

To provide some expertise, Jonathan Wilkinson, parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, will be at the meeting.

If the meeting is too tough to get to, you can save energy and hydrocarbons by watching the meeting live online via Facebook and Twitter (@DanRuimyMP).

The town halls are part of a way for the government to sound out public opinion on issues as it forms policy.

Previous town halls on trade policy and electoral reform took place in July.

• Ruimy would like people to RSVP if possible by e-mailing Dan.Ruimy@parl.gc.ca.
