Commuters will have to contend with at least one lane blocked on Golden Ears Bridge at some point during the day or night, for the rest of the month. And as of Tuesday morning, that was a north bound lane.

TransLink spokesperson Jill Drews said maintenance work is underway as part of the maintenance and repair program, to improve the deck and will take place both during day and night time, requiring the closures of alternating lanes. The bridge will remain open while the work is ongoing.

There also may be ramp closures during overnight work; details will be provided in advance of closures.

“They’re improving the bridge deck for a quieter ride,” she explained. The work takes place between Aug. 21 and 31.

Signage will be used to alert motorists of lane closures in advance.
