Motorcyclist injured by ‘flying barbecue’

Dodges it after it falls from truck, but crashes as a result

A 19-year-old motorcyclist was injured Saturday after he tried to dodge a barbecue that fell out of a delivery truck.

The truck and motorcycle were exiting Golden Ears Way around 2 p.m.

Police said the man steered around the barbecue, but fell off his bike.

He was taken to hospital by the B.C. Ambulance Service where he was treated for injuries and released.

The driver of the delivery truck was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for driving with an insecure load.
