Pedestrian, 63, hit by truck in Maple Ridge, dies

A 63-year-old man struck by a car on Saturday in downtown Maple Ridge has died from his injuries.

The man was crossing Dewdney Trunk Road at 222nd Street around 10:10 a.m. when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 59-year-old woman from Maple Ridge.

The woman was making a left turn to travel west on Dewdney Trunk.

The man was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

RCMP Supt. Dave Walsh said police continue to investigate the crash, but are not releasing the name of the man at this time.
