A person was hit along Lougheed Highway Friday evening in Maple Ridge.
The crash happened around 8 p.m., just west of 222 Street.
BC Emergency Health Services said they received a call at 8:09 p.m. on Oct. 25 regarding a motor vehicle incident involving a pedestrian.
Two ambulances with primary care paramedics responded to the scene, they said, however, no patients were transported to hospital.
Maple Ridge firefighters also attended.
Deputy chief Geoff Spriggs said two trucks responded, and when firefighters arrived on scene they tended to a person on the ground who was in cardiac arrest.
They continued to assist paramedics when they arrived to help get the patient loaded into an ambulance and left the patient in the care of the BC EHS, he said.
It is not clear how many people or vehicles were involved. It is also unclear if the person died.
A witness said police were detouring traffic off of Lougheed Highway as the road was closed at 216 Street and a photograph showed traffic cones across the highway at 222 Street.
