Q: Why are you running for trustee?

A: Being a volunteer for many years at my children’s schools and attending school board meetings, I realized that new energy is needed. I am very passionate about social justice. I want to be that person who helps inspire kids to stay in school and to pursue their goals.

Q: What makes you stand out from other candidates?

A: In the 2011 election, I withdrew my candidacy because I realized that the other two candidates were better prepared for the job than myself. That shows my integrity and proves that I am not running for my own personal benefit. I am an independent candidate who will listen to everyone.

Q: How do you see the school district changing in the next 10 years?

A: If we choose the correct members for the school board, candidates with no personal or political interests, and we get the public to be more involved in speaking up against budget cuts and class sizes and composition, we can be heading to a great future for our public schools.

Q: What will be your top priority if elected to school board?

A: My priority will be to listen to our students, parents, teachers and their ideas to build a better public school system. Social justice will also be a subject that I will take very seriously.
