Pitt Meadows hikes development fees

Application charges going up by four per cent to account for inflation

Setting up shop or building a new townhouse complex in Pitt Meadows will cost developers more next year.

City council gave preliminary approval to an increase in application fees Tuesday hiking rates by four per cent to account for inflation.

Under the proposed increases, the fees developers would pay for an official community plan amendment would rise to $2,500 from $1,759.

If the recommended fee increase were applied to the applications received by the city in 2013, an additional $58,000 in revenue would be generated.
