Police vehicles shut down a street in Maple Ridge while executing a search warrant Thursday afternoon.

Ridge Meadows RCMP said they were on site with the Integrated Emergency Response Team executing the search warrant in the 12300-block of 227th Street at around 4 p.m. on Feb. 22.

A photograph online showed about seven RCMP vehicles blocking traffic along the street as officers surrounded a house.

Witnesses online said police are always at the same house.

One person said they saw police handcuffing two people – one male and one female – in front of a mint green and white house.

Another woman commented they were on their way home from work and police made them turn around at 123rd Avenue.

RCMP would not comment further on the situation.
