Police swarm wild house party in Thornhill

Emergency response team, chopper, police dog spring into action

Police descended on a house party in Maple Ridge Friday night after it got out of control.

Ridge Meadows RCMP, officers from Mission, Coquitlam, the emergency response team, a police dog and RCMP helicopter responded to the call, after neighbours reported the rowdy gathering on 98th Avenue in Thornhill east Maple Ridge.

RCMP said there were 400 people at the event but the crowd was dispersed without incident. There was one arrest.

The party got out of hand after someone posted information about it on Facebook.
