Pregnant woman attacked

A young pregnant woman was attacked Saturday in Maple Ridge Park by three other women.

Witnesses called police around 5:15 p.m. after they saw a group of women attacking the pregnant one. Although she wasn’t badly injured, police are recommending assault charges against the other three, aged 19 to 21.

Two of them are from Maple Ridge, while the youngest one is from Aldergrove.

All three have been released on no-contact conditions and are to appear in court at a later date.

Driver’s license suspended

An Abbotsford man, 52, has lost his driver’s licence for 90 days due to drinking and driving.

Just after 9 p.m. on Sunday, Ridge Meadows RCMP saw a vehicle back out of a driveway and run over a bus stop sign in the 20100-block of Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge.

Police pulled the vehicle over and administered two breathalyzer tests, both of which the man failed.

His vehicle has been impounded for 30 days.

Bail conditions breached

Ridge Meadows RCMP arrested a 19-year-old Maple Ridge man Saturday for breaching bail conditions after he was caught driving while impaired.

Around 2:30 p.m., the man crashed his car into another vehicle while driving on 240th Street in Maple Ridge.

Police administered a breathalyzer test and the man blew a warning, which was enough to revoke his driver’s licence for 30 days.

The minor accident resulted in a computer check and police found the man was to refrain from alcohol consumption to comply with his bail conditions.

He was arrested and later released, he is expected to appear in court in September.
