Residents evacuated in west Maple Ridge

Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team called in.

Residents were evacuated in west Maple Ridge as armed police entered a house on Sunday, according to reports.

Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to a residence near 210th Street and 117th Avenue around 3 p.m.

The Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team attended, along with a tactical armoured vehicle, as well as a police dog service.

Armed officers stood in the street.

RCMP did not comment at the scene on the reason for their attendance.

Residents returned to their homes around 4:30 p.m.
