Police have arrested a teenager in connection with an Oct. 11 robbery of a convenience store on 216th Street.

Ridge Meadows RCMP say two males entered the store in 12000-block at about 7:45 p.m. One of them produced a large knife. The pair then took off with a bunch of candy and cigarettes.

Police however were quick on the scene and brought a police dog which helped locate one of the suspects.

The victim did the right thing in notifying police immediately and the coordinated response resulted in this arrest. This was a favourable outcome, as no one was injured," said Sgt. Brenda Gresiuk in a release. Police are still trying to locate the second suspect, who was wearing a disguise.

In a separate incident, Mac's convenience store on Dewdney Trunk Road and 227th Street was robbed at knifepoint on Oct. 4.
