Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating an early morning assault that has left a man and woman with injuries.

Just before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, a man and woman went to the Chevron Gas station in the 22200 block of the Lougheed Highway. A group of men were at the gas station when the couple arrived, and an altercation between the two groups took place.

This escalated into a physical fight between the couple and the group, and both the man and woman were injured. As police arrived a group of males ran away from the area, travelling southwest across the parking lot of the Haney Hotel.

A police dog from the Integrated Police Dog Services was unable to locate the men.

“Investigators have obtained video surveillance, and are reviewing the footage in an attempt to identify the suspects,” said Corporal Brenda Winpenny.  “Police are appealing for the men involved to come forward and identify themselves.  Investigators are also asking for anyone who knows the identity of any of the males involved to contact police.”
