The Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association is going to rustle up some charity this winter.
The association is doing its part to give back to the community this year, through a food drive to benefit the Friends in Need Food Bank.
RMMHA has partnered with both local rinks – Planet Ice Maple Ride and Pitt Meadows Arena, and has asked all players to participate by bringing one food item to the rink for each home game the Rustlers play.
There will be donation bins at both arenas.
The food bank’s most wanted list of items: kids snacks, granola bars, Boost and Ensure meal supplements, small juice boxes, fruit cups, canned meat and fish, canned fruit and vegetables, and meals in a tin – chili, ravioli, stews and beans.
The donations will be taken to the Friends in Need Food Bank on a weekly basis to help keep shelves stocked.
