A young man wanted by police on allegations of luring teenage girls into the sex trade has been arrested.
Nicholas Boscoe turned himself in on Thursday morning at the Port Coquitlam court house.
The 18-year-old is accused of recruiting teens into prostitution.
Ridge Meadows RCMP made a public plea to help locate Boscoe on Tuesday, a week after procurement charges were filed against him and David Kevin May, 22.
“Police put out a news release asking for the public’s help in locating Mr. Boscoe, and investigators want to thank everyone who assisted,” said Cpl. Alanna Dunlop.
Police allege Boscoe, who is also known as Nicholas Van Diest, and May promised teenage girls money and other incentives as part of the recruitment.
Police learned about the crime by chance on Jan. 24 after the men and a teenage victim were involved in a car crash in Surrey on 151th Street at 96th Avenue.
“Some great police work by an alert Surrey RCMP police officer located our victim, and the two accused, and the details were disclosed,” said Dunlop.
The information led police to a house on 123rd Avenue in Maple Ridge, where officers executed a search warrant on Jan. 29.
The RCMP Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team helped with the search, which resulted in key evidence being located.
Police won’t disclose the age of the victims, just that they were both under 18.
May was arrested and appeared in court on March 6. He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance.
Boscoe was scheduled to make a first appearance in court Thursday, March 14.
